Karen Llewellyn
Call or Text: 902-233-1033

Karen Llewellyn As a trauma informed therapist, I believe my role is to support and empower people to heal and work through whatever obstacles they are facing in their lives.
I have been in private practice for almost 30 years, working with adults and school aged youth of all abilities. I hold a Masters in Educational Psychology from Dalhousie University and am a Certified Canadian Counselor with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association. I am also a Registered Counseling Therapist here with the Nova Scotia College of Counseling Therapists.
I work primarily with individuals. who have been impacted by trauma, abuse and loss, who are experiencing difficulties in their lives, relationships and ability to function as a result. Negative experiences affect our emotional health and leave us unable to be fully present in our lives. The healing process allows us to reconnect with ourselves, develop resiliency and change those patterns that are holding us back.

circumstances.”

I am a registered psychologist and I work with individuals 19 years-of-age and over. I create a warm, relaxed therapeutic space for my clients and make building a trusting relationship my first priority. When given the opportunity to explore both our difficulties and our strengths in a safe and compassionate environment, we can cultivate skills and understanding that can activate our own “inner healer.” It is my goal to collaboratively foster this experience with my clients.

That's why we offer a variety of services designed to help you achieve a relaxed and balanced state, both physically and mentally. Joanna Brenchley

I am a registered counseling therapist and psychotherapist practicing in Kjipuktuk, Mi’kma’ki (Halifax, Nova Scotia). I hold a Master's in Adult Education in Counselling from Acadia University, and an undergraduate degree in Environmental Science and Sustainability from Dalhousie University.
My approach to therapy is relational, trauma-informed and rooted in anti-oppressive values. I believe that people have a deep wisdom in their bodies, and an innate capacity for growth and healing. I believe that strengthening our capacity to be with the fullness of our experience can support us to live in greater presence, aliveness and in alignment with our values. I support this work with curiosity and compassion, drawing primarily from Internal Family Systems and somatic practice.
I tend to work with people who have experienced relational trauma, and have specialized experience in supporting those who have experienced sexualized violence. This might show up as depression, anxiety, relationship challenges, lack of self-confidence and extreme shame, loss of hope, suicidal ideation, beyond. As a bi/queer person, I have a special place in my heart for working with bi and queer clients. I’m also excited to work with people of all genders, ages and backgrounds who are longing for something a bit different for themselves, but aren’t quite sure what it is, or how to get there.
Finding a therapist can be a trying process. If any of the above is resonating with you, I encourage you to book a 20 minute introduction session with me to ask any questions you may have, and more importantly, notice what it is like for you to connect with me. Please feel free to get in touch, I’ll be delighted to hear from you.

She is also deeply committed to trauma informed perspectives, and strives to create a space that responds to her clients wants and needs.

Alasdair Lowe

Acupuncture is my specialty, and as such, I believe it is the best complementary medicine available. Surgery and antibiotics can often be jarring to the patient, or require recovery time. Acupuncture can shorten that time and help the body adapt to the changes happening within.
Our immune system and general homeostasis can be bolstered and maintained with acupuncture. Many everyday ailments and conditions can be improved, if not wholly resolved, with a few acupuncture treatments. Acupuncture is often misunderstood, and many of us overlook its viability.
